As you create your summer reading list, why not add a Catholic classic in among the beach reads? If those books seem too daunting to tackle alone, we invite you to join our group of women who will be exploring the Catholic classics. This seven-week study, a gateway to the spiritual classics, will show you how to grow in wisdom through this inspirational literature.
The Catholic classics are full of wisdom, advice and inspiration to enrich the lives of modern women, and Exploring the Catholic Classics by Tiffany Walsh is a great way to access that wisdom and apply it to your life. In this exploration, you will:
be introduced to works of Catholic literature through carefully selected excerpts;
study these spiritual works in light of the Scriptures; and
reflect on significant spiritual themes.
Continue on your spiritual journey by revisiting the wisdom of those who walked the path before us. The writings we will explore are:
The Imitation of Christ – Thomas á Kempis
The Story of a Soul – St. Thérèse of Lisieux
The Way of Perfection – St. Teresa of Avila
Introduction to the Devout Life – St. Francis de Sales
Essays on Woman – Edith Stein (St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross)
Crossing the Threshold of Hope – St. John Paul II
Abandonment to Divine Providence – Jean-Pierre de Caussade
